Views on the News

The Stripes read the reader Views on the News. They decided to evaluate the statement "Sky cars are the answer to all traffic problems." They used google drawings to collaborate and share their ideas coming up with reasons for and against. Here is their thinking map and summary...

We strongly disagree with the statement that sky cars are the answer to traffic problems. Here are the reasons why we think sky cars are a bad idea. If we had sky cars they would scare away the birds and butterflies. Sky cars would create a lot of noise and would fill our air with pollution. Air cars would be very dangerous as they would get in the way of airplanes and helicopters. There would be a lot of crashes because there would be no travel lanes, traffic lights or road rules. Air cars would eventually create the same problems as on the road, as cars would soon begin to fill up the sky. When people look up at the sky all they would see is under cars. Overall we think sky cars aren't the answer to traffic problems because they would still create a lot of traffic problems - just not on the road. We think a better solution would be getting people to use their cars less by walking, riding their bike or taking the bus.
